This blog is a plethora of things that bring me joy. I grew on the Chesapeake Bay which is a main theme in my first album. However, upon moving away for college my music began to change a lot. I stopped singing about being a hopeless romantic and realized that the world doesn't revolve around Romeo and Juliette bullshit. There is family, there is culture, there is service, and there's a million other ways to feel alive.

I've heard it said that life is a journey, a sort of adventure to create yourself, and while that is all true- for me there was more. To me, every human being is a work of art, even the abandoned projects and the ones that fall apart. We were all created with the capabilities to bring someone else joy, and it wasn't until i recognized life as a powerful gift that I began to truly and deeply love the world around me. Life is beautiful. If you don't believe me- go paint on a wall, hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, write a letter to someone you appreciate, search for Bigfoot, hug a veteran, jump into the ocean, scream at the stars, tell your parents "thank you"...or simply walk outside and take a great, deep breath- then try to tell me that it isn't great to be alive.
